The El Colorado ski resort opened to the public in 1948. It is the oldest and most important resort in Chile at present time. El Colorado has 13 square km of skiable domain, 78 slopes, 22 lifts and the biggest snowpark in South America. The vertical drop is 903 m and the maximum altitude 3333 m. The resort is only 39 km from the capital Santiago and is connected with three other resorts; Farellones, La Parva and Vallee Nevado. You can buy a pass “combinado” for the 3 valles which makes the skiable domain quite a big playground!
